CraveShift is operated by the CraveShift team at University College Cork, Ireland (“CraveShift”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Description of Service

CraveShift is a neuroscience-based food craving management application. The app allows users to scan food items, receive explanations of their craving triggers based on food science research, and access Smart Pairings — science-backed food combinations designed to satisfy cravings without restriction.

CraveShift is a wellness and educational tool. It is not a medical device, clinical treatment, or substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or psychological advice. If you have a diagnosed eating disorder or other medical condition, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CraveShift. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should obtain parental or guardian consent.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

You agree not to create an account using false information or on behalf of someone other than yourself. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its related systems
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app or website
Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the service without our prior written consent
Impersonate CraveShift, its team, or any other person or entity
Use the service in any way that could damage, overburden, or impair its operation

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of CraveShift — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, app code, and the CraveShift name and brand — are the exclusive property of CraveShift and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

6. User Content

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or other content to CraveShift, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and incorporate that content to improve our service. You retain ownership of any content you submit.

7. Third-Party Services

CraveShift may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

CraveShift is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information provided through the service.

The science-based content in CraveShift is for educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider for any health-related questions or conditions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CraveShift and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to CraveShift at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may also delete your account at any time via the app or by contacting us.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of CraveShift after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
